Tryout Registration Now Open for Fall Competitive Teams

A new season is around the corner, and tryout registration for our fall competitive teams is now officially open.

We’re looking forward to building teams for players who are ready to be challenged, supported, and part of something consistent and team-focused this season.

Who Should Register

Tryouts are open for players in the U9–U19 age groups who are interested in a competitive team environment. This includes:

  • Players currently playing club soccer
  • Players looking to make the move into a more competitive setting
  • Multi-sport athletes who want to continue developing in soccer alongside other commitments

We support and encourage athletes who balance school sports and other activities. Our structure is designed to work with real family schedules.

What to Expect

Our tryouts are designed to be straightforward and player-focused.

Players will be evaluated on:

  • Technical ability
  • Game awareness and decision-making
  • Effort, attitude, and coachability

This is not about one moment or one session. We’re looking at the full player.

Our Approach

We’re intentional about how we build teams and run our programs:

  • Capped rosters to ensure meaningful playing and development opportunities
  • Focus on local and regional competition when appropriate
  • Training structure that supports long-term development
  • A strong emphasis on team culture, communication, and consistency

We also recognize the time and financial commitment youth sports require and work to keep things manageable for families whenever possible.

Important Dates

  • Tryout registration: Now Open!
  • Tryout sessions (See article on the age group shift):
  • U8-U12 Boys & Girls: May 11-15
  • U13-U19 Boys & Girls: May 26-29
  • Team assignments: players will receive player invitations within 48 hours of the final tryout for each age group. Please accept or decline as soon as possible so we can finalize rosters.

Transition to School-Year Age Groups (2026–2027 Season) Beginning with the 2026–2027 season, USYS, TSSA & US Club Soccer will move from a birth-year age grouping system to a school-year (academic year) model, using an August 1 cutoff date (scroll to bottom for a handy chart). As a club participating in USYS, TSSA and US Club Soccer–aligned leagues, ARIS FC will adopt this change for the 2026–2027 season. What’s Changing • Age groups will now be based on school year, not calendar birth year • The new cutoff date is August 1 (instead of December 31) • Players will generally be grouped with others in their same grade level In simple terms: players will now be placed with their school peers, not split across teams based on birth year. Why This Change Is Being Made This is a nationwide shift across US Club Soccer, designed to better support players and teams. The goals are to: • Align teams with school-based peer groups • Strengthen team continuity and chemistry • Reduce frequent roster changes year to year • Better align with school sports and college recruiting timelines How ARIS FC Will Implement This Our approach will remain thoughtful, structured, and focused on long-term development. • Players will be evaluated within their school-year age group • The August 1 cutoff will determine placement • Teams will be formed based on: • Player ability • Readiness • Team balance • Long-term development In select cases, flexibility may be considered. Any adjustments outside of standard age grouping will be made on a case-by-case basis, with the goal of supporting both the individual player and overall team structure. How We Evaluate Players Player placement is based on a complete view of development—not a single factor. We consider: • Technical ability • Tactical understanding • Physical development • Confidence and mindset • Training habits and coachability This allows us to place players in environments where they can continue to grow and contribute, both immediately and over time. What Families Should Know • This change applies to all clubs within US Club Soccer • Team formation will continue to prioritize development, balance, and fit • Our commitment remains the same: providing a positive, competitive, and well-organized experience for every player Bottom Line The age group structure is changing. Our focus on player development and team experience is not. We are committed to making this transition clear, consistent, and well-supported for our families.

Summer camp registration officially opens March 25th!! — and ARIS camps are open to the public and players of all skill levels and from any club or organization. Our summer camps are built for players who want to stay active, improve, and enjoy the game without the pressure of a full season. Each day includes: Skill work + small-sided games Built-in breaks (because… summer) Fun competition and yard games to finish And the last day? A camper favorite! Water, games, and frozen treats. Simple setup. High energy. Kids leave tired (in a good way). Whether your player is new to the game or already competing, this is a great way to stay sharp and connected this summer. REGISTRATION OPENS MARCH 25!
